Mike shared this idea with me earlier today:
Down on the corner of Bell and 9th there is a building that has a large, blank, ugly wall facing the intersection. What if we power washed the wall, then painted it? It would beautify the city, participating in God’s creative process of bringing order out of chaos.
On the wall we could paint one of the verses that has helped to focus our vision in these early stages of becoming a missional community:
“Seek the peace and prosperity of the city to which I have carried you into exile. Pray to the LORD for it, because if it prospers, you too will prosper.”
– Jeremiah 29.7
How does this idea strike you?
I don’t know who this Mike guy is but he sound wonderful:) What if this was just one of a few/many places this happened throughout our community?
Sounds great…do we have to get permission from anybody in the city? Let’s do it!!
Sounds like fun!
We better check out who this Mike character is. He sounds a bit “out there”. But, of course, that’s where Jesus was/is! Let’s do it!!
