We mentioned before that Restore Communities will take turns leading worship at the Alton Mission worship gathering. For some of the elements of worship that require a more specific skill, such as leading the music and preaching, teams are being developed to lead. Everything else will be led by a rotation of folks from Restore Communities, from prayer times to testimonies, from scripture readings to communion.
We’ll have three teams rotating:
Middletown A: Millers, Seawrights, Turners, and Varners
Middletown B: Bosmas, Houghs, Smileys, and Stevensons
North Alton: Jacksons, Militzers, Wenzels, and Wreaths
Here’s the schedule from now until Advent:
9.9.2012 – Middletown A
9.16.2012 – Middletown B
9.23.2012 – North Alton
9.30.2012 – Middletown A
10.7.2012 – [No Gathering — Faith In Action]
10.14.2012 – Middletown B
10.21.2012 – North Alton
10.28.2012 – Middletown A
11.4.2012 – Middletown B
11.11.2012 – North Alton
11.18.2012 – Middletown A
11.25.2012 – Middletown B
Tasks:
On your assigned week, please show up at 9:30am (an hour early) for setup and prayer. This involves putting out the chairs, preparing the communion tables, and setting up the children’s room. After setup is complete, the group will spend time praying in advance of the worship gathering.
Thankfully, the setup duties are actually pretty light. That’s one of the reasons we chose this location. But if you’re going to miss a Sunday, please communicate with your team and find someone to replace you.
May God bless you as you lead his people in worship!
I can already tell you we won’t be here on the 16th. Sorry!
It’s worship day! YAY! excited to see everyone (and get to know those of you I don’t)
Hey all. Last night was good. Bob and Drew, sorry you couldn’t be here. It was great to see the interaction between the kids and adults. Ashley and Jonathan playing Bocci Ball with kids outside. All the little girls sitting on Ramona’s lap. Hearing the conversation of all you throughout the house. Making our friends Gene and JoAnne feel so welscomed, along with our neighbor Ron and his boys. When Toni and I bought this house this is exactly what I had envisioned going on. So thanks to all of you in helping my dream come true.
