Paul sent me this message a couple days ago:
As we prepare to move our corporate worship time to Jacoby I am encouraged by Nehemiah 8:5-6: “And Ezra opened the book in the sight of all the people, for he was above all the people; and when he opened it all the people stood. And Ezra blessed the Lord, the great God; and all the people answered, ‘Amen, Amen,’ lifting up their hands; and they bowed their heads and worshiped the Lord with their faces to the ground.”
Did they prostrate themselves before the Lord? Maybe. I know there are many times in Scripture people worshiped God on their faces. I like the fact that, with more open space, we will have the freedom to worship God as He leads (at Jacoby). We will no longer be confined by chairs in rows. I am REALLY LOOKING forward to worshiping in our new “sanctuary”!
Hope you’re all getting excited. How do you think we can make use of our new space? What would you do with a little more freedom in worship?
Remember, one last service at the Riverbender community center, then it’s on to Jacoby Sundays at 4pm starting August 3!
