Jesus said, “Be perfect as your heavenly Father is perfect.” What on earth does that mean? Can it even be done? Our third sermon in the series Why the Church Needs You explores what it means to be perfect and why becoming a perfect person means you have to be in relationship with people who are different from you. Our focus is Jesus’ words in Matthew 5.38-48. The church needs perfect people, so the church needs to create the kind of environment in which people can be perfected.
