This morning we hosted Unity Fellowship Church for a joint worship service, the second combined service we’ve done together. Pastor Charles from Unity starts us off in 1 John 4.7-21 focusing on the problem of fear. Fear makes us flee, but love gives us the courage to stay connected even through tension and difference. In the second half of the shared sermon we consider love as the answer to our fears. But what is love? How exactly can it drive out fear? What does it require of us? We consider these questions together as our two communities prepare to share meals in one another’s homes in order to have courageous conversations on race, faith, and our stories.
