St. Paul says we should set our minds on things above, not on earthly things (Colossians 3.2-4). What does he mean by this? What does it look like to live here and now with our thoughts, intentions, and agendas shaped by heavenly things? In particular, how can we live focused on heavenly rather than earthly glory? To answer that we consult St. Ambrose, who defined glory like this: “To be well known and praised.” What passes for glory today is to be widely known and complimented, but true glory awaits us in Christ.
