The next sermon in our series A Story Worth Living comes from Mark 10.35-52. We have contrasting stories of disciples who brought their desires to Jesus but were asking blindly, and a blind man who saw clearly what he needed most and what Jesus was about. Bartimaeus becomes for us an example of seeking out a transformative encounter with Jesus that leads us from sitting alongside the road to being healed so we can begin the journey and adventure of following Jesus. In whatever way we’ve been waiting to live a better story, may we find the courage to ask from Jesus what we need and want so that in joy we can get moving again.
