The Exodus is God’s foundational act of salvation and liberation in the Hebrew scriptures. Starting from Stephen’s retelling of the story in Acts 7.17-42, we consider what this story tells us about who God is and who we are. God acts in history to deliver the oppressed and show himself supreme over every empire and authority. The God of the Exodus is worthy of all our allegiance and trust that living under his reign, now revealed through Christ, is the way of life for all.
