Luke 9.27-36 tells the story of Jesus being transformed in glory on top of a mountain. His disciples see him talking with Moses and Elijah, who stand in for all the Law and the Prophets, speaking about Jesus’ coming suffering and resurrection. Then they hear a voice telling them something that will change their world. Jesus had said it would be a vision of the Kingdom of God they were to see. A picture of glory to come. What does that vision on the mountain have to do with lives caught in the valley?
