Our Lent series on forgiveness jumps to the end goal of forgiveness, which is the restoration of God’s good. We heed St. Paul’s words from Romans 12.9-21 that we should “not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.” Forgiveness is a path Jesus marked out for us, one which he invites us to be actively involved in. It is a way of doing good until God’s good is restored. We end with an example of forgiveness from Fr. Greg Boyle’s book Tattoos on the Heart.
